Conceived in 2019 as Polytechnic Innovation and Enterprise Institute, the Institute was officially established in September 2022. Its organisational structure spans the governing board, the management staff, the academic board, academic programs, staff, and students. The Institute is the first to be established in the North-Eastern part of Nigeria, and indeed among the first of its kind in Northern Nigeria. The Institute is blessed with highly qualified technical and support staff. It has Nine (9) qualified Quality Assurance Assessors (QAA), Four (4) trainee QAAs, and six (6) Internal Quality Assurance Managers (IQAM). In addition, forty-five (45) members of the Institute are currently preparing to train as QAA Assessors, and three (3) as IQAM. The Institute utilises the state-of-the-art facilities provided by the mother institution (the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi) to promote its skills acquisition and vocational training. The Institute serves as a training partner in the N-Build training programme supported by the National Social Investment Office (NSIO) of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs Disaster Management and Social Development of the immediate past administration in the following trades:
Non-graduate training in automobile and Agritech trades, Construction Artisan trades as well as Hospitality trades under the N-Power Scheme from 2019 to Date.
